Balance Inquiry allows end-users telephonic access to balance information. Balance Inquiry can be used to check bank balances but also enables users to, for example enquire as to the remaining credit balance in prepaid phone accounts and savings-point totals in loyalty programmes. The end-user calls up, enters his/her code (pin code, client number etc.) and can listen to the balance.
Balance Update enables banks to allow consumers to access balance information. The consumer calls the bank number and enters his account number and pin code. The application then enquires as to the balance within the bank system, after which the application 'speaks out' the balance.
