Telecom New Zealand selects the MVNO solution of I-New & Comsys

Auckland, Mattersburg, Soesterberg, January 2012 – Telecom New Zealand based in New Zealand has chosen the MVNO in a Box solution of I-New Communicative Solutions GmbH and Comsys Telecom & Media B.V. for their new innovative MVNO environment.

Telecom New Zealand launched a new Mobile brand called Skinny Mobile. Skinny Mobile is all about living leaner – Doing more with less. None of the fluff but just the good stuff.  The customers are only paying for the stuff they actually want.

The MVNO in a Box solution of I-New and Comsys contains everything that a company needs to start its own MVNO or MVNE. The solution is unique, highly flexible and designed according to the new Telco 2.0 definition. I-New and Comsys have developed and designed the solution to enable real flexibility and convergence for the customer and to have minimal initial investments by a time to market. The product is very scalable from 10.000 subscribers up to millions; it is multitenant and supports a multitude of market segmentations.

Walter Botman, Managing Director at Comsys Telecom & Media: “Comsys is very proud that we could participate in realizing Skinny Mobile with all our Voice products and expertise!”

The MVNO in a box solution has many features such as:  Voice (IVR) Services, Real-time IN Services, Ring back Tones, Voicemail, SMS-C, USSD Gateway, Messaging Services, MMS, Real-time Convergent Charging and Rating Engine, CRM, Wholesales Billing, Postpaid, Prepaid, Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence, Provisioning, Call Completion,  Mobile Marketing and Advertising, Voucher Management System, Service Creation Environment, Flexible Mediation, Loyalty and Campaign manager, and more.

About Telecom New Zealand:
Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited (Telecom) was formed in 1987 out of the telecommunications division of the New Zealand Post Office, a government department. In 1990 Telecom became one of the first Telco in the world to be fully privatized. On 30 November 2011, Telecom demerged into two entirely separate, publicly listed companies; a retail services provider (Telecom) and a network services operator (Chorus). Structural separation of Telecom's retail business from the business that owns and operates the Fibre-To-The-Premise (FTTP) network was a pre-requisite for participation in the Government's Ultra-Fast Broadband scheme (UFB). About Skinny Mobile:
Skinny is a mobile phone company. Well, actually it's not a separate, stand-alone company, if we're honest. It's a separate division of Telecom Retail which sells stuff with Skinny on it. And makes the odd T-Shirt. We dont flog Telecom stuff, but they are our friends, and they are really nice to us. So what does that mean for you? It means that we get to use the super quick, big and clever XT network to offer our 3G mobile services, and we didnt have to build our own. It means that while Telecom Retail own Skinny, Skinny has its own offices, staff (including our call centre, staffed by the lovely Skinny reps) and systems, and we get to dream up all our own prices, products, services and the like. So really, we get to enjoy all the good stuff - the XT Network, reliability, scale, super speed and great national coverage - and build on top of it a different mobile society, with a different set of values and principles.
