Comsys adds new high density hardware to its product line
Soesterberg, December 2011 – Comsys Telecom & Media B.V. has added new high density hardware to its product line.
The world is changing and everything needs to be smaller, faster, less energy consuming but still reliant and redundant. This means companies such as Comsys need to adapt and extend the product line. Comsys has chosen the Magma 1U PCIe Expansion Chassis (ExpressBox 4 1U) in combination with the Aculab Prosody X PCIe to realise this.
The advantage of using Magma 1U PCIe Expansion Chassis (ExpressBox 4 1U) is that is can handle up to 4 PCIe boards in only 1U. Furthermore the ExpressBox 4 is equipped with 2 hot swappable power units, contains dual power connectors, 3 hot swappable cooling fans. It also is equipped SNMP, which not only can be used for alerting on failures, temperature, etc. but also for controlling the cards. Last but not least replacing an PCIe boards or adding one can be done without the need to open the chassis or turning it off. The ExpressBox is CE certified and RoHS compliant.
Each ExpressBox 4 can handle up to:
- 32E1’s, ISDN/ISUP/…
- 2000 SIP channels
- 6400 messages/second (SIGTRAN)
The ExpressBox 4 in combination with 1 (or more) servers takes less space, only 2U and consumes less energy. It handles all your Voice and IN related services such as Voicemail, IVR, Roaming, in a high density setup.
Magma develops and manufactures PCI & PCI Express Expansion Systems for servers, desktops and portable platforms. Magma’s patented expansion products extend PCI and PCI Express signals outside the computer over cable to a chassis containing multiple card slots. Magma’s product line includes enclosed and non-enclosed solutions ranging from low-end single slot expansion products to fault-tolerant, highly reliable, available and serviceable (RAS) chassis specifically designed for mission critical environments. Magma expansion solutions enable you to protect your investment in expensive, specialized add-in cards while providing an easy migration path from legacy protocols, like PCI, to high-speed PCI Express protocols.
