Comsys improved the procedures related to recycling

Thanks to enthusiastic employees the procedures with regards to recycling are improved. The most important procedures are now the following:

Waste Avoidance
Comsys encourages employees not to generate wastes at the facilities by:

  1. Only printing materials strictly necessary
  2. Configuring printers to print on both sides of the paper
  3. Distribution pay slip in digital format
  4. Do as much in digital format as possible
  5. Less personal shelf space, thus less paper storage and printing

Office Recycling
Comsys's Office Paper Recycling program focuses on waste that can be easily recycled by employees Europe-wide. Recycling bins and trash bins located in each office, in conference rooms, break areas and copy rooms allow and encourage employees to recycle materials, including paper, printer cartridges and toners, proprietary office paper & materials, beverage cans, bottles, etc.

System shipments often contain foam packaging peanuts and inserts. These are collected at the Comsys facilities and then picked up and recycled by one of the company's recycling partners.

Battery recycling is available at all the Comsys offices as appropriate. Additionally battery recycling is in place for Service Engineers. The types of batteries recycled include Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Lithium Ion (Li+), Alkaline, and lead acid.

Computer Equipment Recycling
Used computer equipment is collected and sent to a third-party asset recovery vendor for recycling or re-manufacture.
