GSMA Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, February 8th 2008 -  iNEWiT, the mobile video communication & monitoring expert, and Comsys, specialist in interactive telephony, have teamed up to develop VIUCom™, an innovative revenue generating mobile video solution for carriers. VIUCom will help mobile telecom operators provide their clients with a powerful tool for mobile video viewing. The user friendly solution combines iNEWiT’s proven VIU™ home surveillance product with the Comsys SpeechFrame® Video IVR platform, enabling 3G or UMTS video calls.

The consumer buys an iNEWiT VIU™ mobile video camera and a 3G subscription. The iNEWiT product can be branded in the look & feel of the operator and sold as an operator branded package. The combination of the technologies of iNEWiT and Comsys enables the consumer to either start a video call with the VIU and watch, or get a notification from the VIU when motion is detected and then connect.

The VIUCom™ solution offers many advantages over more complex mobile video systems. It is very user friendly, it does not require installation of a specific video player on the mobile phone and a user can simply pick up the phone and call the VIU.

On the operator side, this system guarantees revenues from Video Call minutes and it helps make large investments in 3G networks and licenses profitable.
